Curriculum

I obtained my degree in Chemistry at the University of Pavia in 1993.

From 1993 to 1996, I had some collaborations with the Analytical Chemistry Laboratory - Department of General Chemistry - University of Pavia.

I followed my doctoral studies for 3 year at the University of Pavia (Faculty of Chemistry), and I had the PhD title with a doctoral thesis entitled: “Solid sorbents for metal-ions: characterization and applications in analytical chemistry”.

During these studies, I was laboratory assistant in many courses of qualitative, quantitative and instrumental Analytical Chemistry in the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Pavia.

In the summer of 2002 I was appointed researcher in Analytical Chemistry at the University of Pavia.

Now I teach "Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry 2" (course of the 3rd year (level I) degree in Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Natural Sciences), and “Electroanalytical Chemistry" (course of the 1st year specialist (level II) degree in Chemistry, Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Natural Sciences).

Temi di ricerca

My research activity in analytical chemistry currently falls into these areas:
-         Thermodynamic and kinetic characterization of new solid materials for sorption of metal ions.
-          Speciation of metal ions in natural water, based on the sorption of the metal considered on solid sorbents (ion-exchange and chelating resins, activated carbon).
-         Development of new electroanalytical techniques to assess the free metal ion concentration in natural matrices (environmental samples, foods, biological samples).
